I’m Martin Denton (not Marty; no one calls me that!). I’m your host on this adventure blog. For many years I ran a website called “nytheatre.com” (now defunct) and a nonprofit called The New York Theatre Experience. I wrote thousands of reviews, published more than a dozen anthologies of new American plays, produced hundreds of podcasts about independent theater, co-founded the League of Independent Theater, and did a whole slew of other things that were very fun and very fulfilling. Now I’m retired and looking forward to spending much of my time experiencing as much culture and local color as I can, with my partner in life, Arthur. (No one calls him Arty either.) (Arthur may write some of these blog posts eventually but I’m the writer in the family.)
